How should I raise money for this organization?

I am raising money for the help a poor child organization, I am doing it with one other friend and one other that might be able to help.
We are planning to do a car wash on a very busy road that they can pull into a gas station on. Please no suggestions about that. How else should we raise money? We are making flyers saying that we will do yard work and such or if they want to donate. Please help!

talk to the Director of the organization as they probably have lots of ideas for you from successful events in the past.

Ask local businesses if you can set up donation jars/boxes in their stores. Places like money mart the staff is obligated to ask every customer if they wish to make a contribution. Depending on the business owner they almost always are willing to help fund a good cause.
Another great way is to print up info brochures and go down to a busy city park with BBQ pits. Have a hot dog and drinks drive. Charge each customer like 3 bucks for a drink and hot dog. Give them all a brochure and tell them what you are doing. The outcome will be great. Parks are always crazy busy in the summer.
Dog walking and shampooing is another fun way too.

You’ve got some great ideas so far on the page let me add one or two:
Sell cookie dough. My baseball team raised a lot of money with this. It wasn’t hard to sell and didn’t cost much up front. we arranged for the parents to pick the tubs up so I didn’t even have to deliver. If you don’t like cookie dough there are other ideas on the links.
Concerts/sporting events/talent shows. There are probably bands and entertainers in your school who are looking to get some experience. Have a sporting event where it’s the students versus teachers..Charge a couple of bucks for admission to these things.
