What is a money collection that people put together to buy drinks at a bar called?

Lots of people all put the same amount of money in each and then someone goes to the bar to get the drinks with the combined money. What is that called?

It’s called a “Whip-round”.

Drinks pool or kitty. But kitty may also be used for collecting a group’s money for other activities besides drinking.

Makes me remember the good old days. We usually called it a pot. However, I have also heard it called a kitty or a pool.

We call it the “Daddy Warbucks” method. Everybody throws in a $20 and when the money’s gone, they throw in another.
