How much money can you get for donating plasma?
Posted by admin under: Community Service .
Don’t get righteous on me because you think I only want to do it for the money. I’m just curious. I also want to do it because it saves lives. Only answer if you truly know.

About $5 a Gallon. Try donating ecto-plasm – you’ll get ten times as much

It truly depends on the organization that you go to, even in the same city there can be a drastic difference in the places.
I used to get $20 each time, and then there were bonuses at certain increments and prize drawings for money and other prizes.
But a place that was downtown in my city used to pay about half of that, and had no bonus increments or prize drawings.
So… really it can vary from place to place.
For people that don’t know, plasma is not blood.
Plasma is 92% water, 7% protein and 1% minerals. Plasma is the source of gamma globulin, albumin and clotting factors. Plasma is used to treat clotting disorders, burn victims and shock.
And just to be clear, plasma is more a clear/yellow color, and is almost exclusively “paid for”, there is no real (at least no easy) way to strictly donate it for free.
The process is very tiring and not an easy experience to go through. They take your whole blood out, spin it in a centerfuge, and return your whole red blood cells to you and keep the clotting factor portion, they do that for about an hour or two, taking blood, a machine spins it, and returns the red stuff to you, it’s a long cycle.
Blood, whole blood, the red stuff that we see and are so familiar with, is not usually paid for unless there are specific traits / qualities to it that are highly desired. (specific anti-bodies and so forth)
hope this helps!

Not enough people donate blood. So if you want money 4 it fine. I don’t care. How much depends on where U go. But don’t use words like Plasma if you want serious answers. It invites ridicule.
for instance: We’d gladly pay U 4 ur plasma but we dont use money in the 24th century

If you are Donating your plasma you shouldn’t receive anything for it. YOU ARE DONATING IT!,…shew,….Now if you would like to sell your plasma that is a different situation all together.
