How to raise money with a class?

Posted by admin under: Community Service .

I am in high school and my school is running a cancer campaign. I would like to pitch in and get my homeroom class to raise money. What are ways that I can get my class to raise money for the cause? I would like to only involve my classroom and not the whole school. Any ideas other than they just ask their parents for money?

You could do a cancer walk for so much money a mile. Get people to sponser you. You could sell cancer ribbons or maybe a bake sale or something along those lines.

Involve just your class as in have your class run a fundraiser that solicits from a larger audience? Try sticky teacher-have a popular teacher volunteer to be taped to the wall. Sell meter long pieces of duct tape and see if you can have enough buyers to physically tape the teacher to the wall. Remove the chair from underneath him and let him stick. Do it during lunch or right after school.

You can use technology to help you with your cause. I recommend a tool called Chip In to help you with your fundraising efforts:

You can use this tool to put a widget on your blogs or web sites to help you raise funds and reach a wider audience through all of your friends, family, etc. Each member of your class can have a copy of the widget for their own sites or blogs and connect with all of their friends to help you collectively raise money.

In addition, you can go to local businesses, restaurants, hotels, etc. for support. Speak to the General Manager at these places. Many large organizations give the local stores discretionary funds to help support community groups like yours.

Good luck!

car wash
yard sale
bake sale
whoever raises the most money gets to hit you in the face with a pie kind of thing
Get someone to donate trees and have students to sell them in memory of “cancer survivors”
candy sell
donation booths
Sell little construction paper links for fifty cents or a dollar per link. Each link represents someone who died of cancer or who is a survivor. The students put the cancer victims’ names on them.
Have the kids to pay a dollar a piece or so to be able to wear a baseball cap or something of their interest in your class.
If you don’t understand how any of this works, email me.
Raffles-raffles are huge hits. Get a local business like true value or lowes or somewhere like that to donate items. Students then sell the tickets for a chance to win whatever it is you are raffling off.
Boston **** sale. A lot of meat markets will donate in instances like this-tax write off.
