I have a $400 per month grocery AND household needs budget. (Household needs are things like shampoo, detergents, cleaning supplies, plastic wraps/baggies, etc…). I feed me and my husband. I always buy chicken ******* when on sale, salmon fillets and Tilapia when on sale, pork chops at Costco or Sams Club, NY strips and filet mignon at Costco/Sam’s, frozen shrimp, fresh raviolis’ from Costco/Sams, Hillshire Farm sausage/kielbasa only when on sale for buy one get one free, frozen pizzas when my brand is on sale–then I doctor them up with other veggies at home, fresh vegetables that are on sale, side dishes when they go on sale (Pasta/Rice a Roni, etc…) and I always, always, always use coupons and look for places that double and triple coupons. (I also have to include my 3 cats’ food and litter needs in this budget as well. )

I shop at Whole Paycheck, so it’s usually around $200/week for 2 people, but we pack lunches for work and make dinner nearly every night.
I always buy:
soy milk
tons of produce
bread
peanut butter
fish
pasta
and soy-based fake-meats

I like to buy lots of cheap healthy foods, like broccoli, cauliflower, bananas and the likes. Some foods are worth buying from an organic store, but thats getting expensive. There are lists online that tell you whats best to buy organic. Most are things that would come in contact with high amounts of pesticides. Use coupons and you can get some really cheap healthy meals!

I am on a budget and I spend $80-$100 per week. I have a family of 4 (but 1 is a newborn). I feed 3 of us on that by making a list for things to make meals throughout the week and i stick to it.

Typically buy enough for 5 dinners for all.
Weekday Lunches for both adults
Weekday breakfasts for both adults and oldest child. (youngests breakfast is free at daycare)
Weekend breakfast for all.

I feel really bad answering this, because it makes me seem like a spoiled brat in comparison to other people. I spend about $400 a week, only feeding myself and my wife. :-s

i spend like 60 bucks a week and i live by myself
i always buy milk (alot!), meats (shrimp beef n chicken), veggies and fruits, eggs, frozen taquitos, frozen chicken nuggets, ham, cheese, the bread is difficult cause i live alone and it goes bad so i only buy like sandwich bread one week, hamburger bread the other (and use it for things other than hamburgers), mad tuna cans and canned veggies for it, soups/pasta, cereal, mad juices, beer and or wine, dog food, cleaning stuff, disposable plates/cups/utensils, every now and then cookies or chocolate.

I shop for 2 adults and a 10 yr old. and we spend anywhere from $100-150 per week depending if we’re stocking up on basic items like toilet paper, paper towels, ziplocks, tissues etc.

Less than $150 a month. I live alone. I buy meat (chicken, pork chops, hot dogs and occasionally bacon), fruits, rice, pasta, potatoes, “sides” such as corn and beans, bread and bagels, “condiments” such as mayo, butter, ketchup, but this is only periodically, a lot of cheese, tortillas, snacks such as cookies and crackers.
I stray from buying candy, chips and junk food items, might buy one comfort food. I always get the cheapest, value price items, unless there’s a specific brand I prefer. I rarely buy soda and juice since I’m on a tight budget. I have a water filter and drink water most of the time.
I only recently got a microwave, but I don’t get frozen foods (like T.V. dinners and frozen pizza) I don’t think they’re worth the price and the nutritional value.

About $80 a week for my husband and myself. We typically buy things for lunch and easy dinners. Milk, juices, breads, veggies. Then I usually make one big meal every Sunday. It’s almost cheaper for us to eat out!

I never shop for the week, I shop for the month. I can stretch my groceries virtually to the end of the month, minus adding milk eggs. If you buy the basics, some chickens, ground beef, pasta, tommatoes, wine, bread, parmesan cheese, you can do more than you realize. For the month I spend 110, with money left over. I don’t buy junk, just stuff I know I will be able to work with over and over. That is the key folks, and yes, you can feed a family of 4 on this using the same method. My parents did this for years.
