How much money should I give my daughter to spend on her birthday?

So I decided I’m going to take my daughter out on a shopping spree and maybe go to a movie/have dinner for her 13th birthday with some friends. I don’t want to give her too much money, but I don’t want to give her not enough to buy anything she wants.
So how much do you think I should give her?
By the way, she doesn’t get allowance, so she won’t have any money to spend except for the money I give her myself.

What can you afford to giver her?
I would say no more than 100 dollars.

I would look online at some stores you know she loves, and choose things that you think are her taste, and *** the prices together, and then add like 20 more dollars. If she does not get allowance, than really its her ONLY money so consider that…..

It depends on what she wants. If she talks a lot, that’s great you can discuss. If not, take her to the mall, look at what she looks for more than usual or does she really fancy buying anything?
Once you have figured out, give her the money for that and say 20 dollars on top – and a personal note saying:
“Happy Birthday to You! Personal notes….
and then say I thought you wanted to buy this..buy it and with the rest 20, have some great food”
By all means, is should not go above 100 to 150.

Give her whatever you can afford and you feel that she can spend responsibly.
$50 or more would be appropriate.

When i was younger i didn’t get allowance either which did make me appreciate the money that i got off people for my birthday and christmas etc but my parents would make me babysit or do some minor jobs around the household and would give me a bit more money that i expected i would get and it made me happy! I still didn’t spend the money wisely though. I am a male so i wasn’t really interested in shopping sprees and that lot so i can’t really tell you whats best thing to do but i do believe that you should make the choice on how much to give her or maybe you don’t give her the money and pay for the items she wants to get in this shopping spree? may be a better solution. But its your call and good luck!
