Should i purchase a canon 450d with a double lens kit from argos?
Posted by admin under: Cameras .
i know for a fact that argos aren’t entirely reliable, although there is a product on the site which is fantastic value for money. the product name and catalog number is: Canon EOS 450D 12MP Digital SLR Camera with Twin Lens. 559/1435. should i purchase this, considering the risks of the satisfactory services? answers will be much appreciated.

It is up to you. Getting two lenses is better because it gives you more to work with.

£637 is a little costly for your first camera. You may want to look at a camera that only costs £353 with two lenses and will allow you to learn all you need over the next few years and then invest your money in a more advanced camera body, using the two lenses the whole time and keep the savings in your pocket.
If you are stuck on the pixel treadmill, don’t be.

Hi,
The 18-55 IS version is an improvement over its predecessor – but has its limitations – pretty soft throughout the range. The 55-250 IS is a good value lens and produces some acceptable results. Separately, these lenses would retail for c£300-£350, which makes the 450D cheap.
If the additional tele zoom fits your needs, the Argos deal looks very attractive.
I would not be worried about the service angle, you have 12 months with Canon UK, 90 days refund on a credit card, and the Consumer Credit Act if you go for finance.
I believe you would be pretty pleased with this buy.
Cheers
Charles

i got my 450d from jessops i only bought the one with the kits lens which is 18-55mm is and got a 430ex ii flashgun as well..a friend of mine got his d90 from argos, the problem with them is all they’ll do after you order it is just give you the box and thats it.when i got mine at jessops they opened the box showed you all the stuff inside that needs to be there even explained the do’s and dont’s when changing lenses.simple explanations and really good service from a good shop.and the price by the way for the 450d went down in jessops now . here’s one of the best shops to buy as well
i would go for a 17-85mm is usm ,28-135mm is usm,18-200 is.good lenses for starting out and not so expensive as well…goodluck!
