Can I make money through adventure?
Posted by admin under: Cycling .
Hi folks!
So I’m 18. I’m very fit, healthy, positive, and I love the world. This summer I’m currently planning to undertake a fair journey on my bicycle, about 1,700 miles.
From Montreal, to the Adirondack park, to NYC, to Washington, to West Virginia (seeing my grandparents there) to Kentucky (meeting a girl) to Illinois (meeting a friend) and then back through Kentucky all the way to North Carolina where I have a friend who knows this rich couple and they’re setting us up with a beautiful home at a steal of a price.
Sounds fantastic doesn’t it? Now here’s my question/dilemma. I don’t truly want to stop there. I don’t really ever want to stop. Not for a long time. Picture me as a forest gump of bicycling. However as you obviously know, doing such a trip costs a lot of money to start and maintain, so I won’t be able to financially keep on going even if my body could.
I’ve been planning on starting up a blog of my journey, taking pictures and also perhaps making a video log too. I’m curious though, is there any way to keep myself afloat financially doing this?

It seems to me like you need to marry into the rich family in NC somehow! If you dont already have the $ to finance this kind of adventure then you might just want to call it off and get a job and save for it for a while. I had big ideas when I was 18 too, problem was none of them really panned out the way I thought they would and only a few I have realized since turning 40, whew, took a while. Try to look for financial backing from someone to help see you thru with this adventure otherwise you will meet some strange ones sleeping under all those overpasses!
