How do I get my money back from a store that gave me Merch Credit?

For my birthday, I had received a large amount of gifts from an outdoor recreation store. Since some of the presents were things like astronaut food, I decided to return some of them in the hope of cash. Instead, I received 141 dollars in store credit. I absolutely **** store credit! How can i use this merch credit to get cash back in the end? I need help here, people!

Sell the credits to someone for $100. The store is not going to give you cash since you did not spend your cash there.

You can’t,the store wants the money.
You might talk to the store manager and go up the corporate ladder.
Eventually,you may have to go to small claims court.
